NPS is percentage points; CES is a scale-specific mean; health is custom. Default values are examples. No representativeness, benchmark or churn guarantee. 200 KB and 10,000 CSV responses.

The formulas

NPS follows Bain. CES uses the explicitly selected mean convention. Ease normalization and health are transparent custom formulas, not external standards.

The formulas
MetricFormulaInterpretation
NPS100 × (promoters − detractors) / total responses−100 to +100 percentage points
CESsum of ratings / CES response countMean on the selected scale
Ease, higher = easier100 × (CES − 1) / (scale maximum − 1)0–100
Ease, higher = more effort100 × (scale maximum − CES) / (scale maximum − 1)0–100, reversed
NPS index(NPS + 100) / 20–100; only used by health
Health(NPS index × NPS weight + ease × ease weight + adoption × adoption weight) / 100Weights total 100%; no intermediate rounding

How to use

  1. Enter promoter, passive and detractor counts, or CSV with NPS scores from 0 to 10.
  2. Optionally add CES ratings. Set actual scale and direction, adoption and weights totaling 100%.
  3. Calculate and export. Compare consistent cohorts and periods; health is your custom index, not a standardized prediction.

Frequently asked questions

Is this free, and does my input leave the browser?

Free, no sign-up. Computation, copy and downloads stay in your browser. There is no upload or processing endpoint. Usage analytics include only a fixed tool name and action, never your input or result.

How is NPS calculated?

Promoters score 9–10, passives 7–8 and detractors 0–6. NPS = 100 × (promoters − detractors) / total. Passives count in the denominator. NPS ranges from −100 to +100 percentage points. Zero responses has no defined score.

What happens to invalid CSV scores?

Blank, invalid or out-of-range NPS scores reject calculation with a record number; none are silently dropped. Blank CES cells are counted separately. CES uses only provided valid ratings.

Which CES formula is used?

The arithmetic mean on the selected 1–5 or 1–7 scale. Higher can mean easier or more effort, depending on the question. Select its actual direction. Health uses CES ease normalized to 0–100, reversing when higher means more effort.

Is health an industry standard?

No. It weights (NPS + 100) / 2, normalized CES ease and measured adoption percentage. Weights are your choices and must total 100%. It is not a validated churn forecast. Without CES responses, CES and health are unavailable.

What does a high NPS prove?

It describes this response sample. It does not establish representativeness, causality, retention or a universal good-score benchmark. Compare consistent questions, scales, cohorts and periods; inspect sample size and response bias.
