The case

Digital income-tax reporting is already live for income above £50,000, with supplied thresholds expanding to £30,000 in April 2027 and £20,000 in April 2028. The bridging market is active: several spreadsheet and desktop products already exist around roughly £90 plus tax annually. SheetBridge's remaining gap is a web-native multi-client accountant console, not first-mover filing capability. It preserves client authority, source workbook and version, periods, digital links, mapping, validation, missingness, adjustments, reviewer approval, submission credentials, request, government receipt, rejection, correction, and later finalization as separate states. It never invents missing transactions, determines tax liability, treats a validated spreadsheet as accurate books, or submits without exact client and agent authority. A free sandboxed government interface is verified, but sandbox success does not prove production enrollment, compatible-software status, filing acceptance, or accountant authority. Current primary guidance governs thresholds, update types, deadlines, corrections, and final obligations.

Who pays — and why

The accounting practice, bookkeeper, or tax agent managing multiple spreadsheet-first self-employed clients under digital income-tax reporting.

What it unlocks
A multi-client register binding taxpayer identity, agent authority, obligations, periods, source workbook, template version, digital-link policy, reviewer, credentials, and deadline.
A controlled import that preserves cells and rows, mappings, categories, units, duplicates, gaps, validation, adjustment, reconciliation, and approved frozen version.
A submission chain separating quarterly update draft, client or agent approval, authenticated request, provider acknowledgment, government receipt, rejection, correction, and final period status.
How Genesis scored it
6.38across seven criteria
tension 6temporal 8blindspot 5buyer 5leverage 8convergence 5why-not 7
8
Temporal window

The first threshold is active and two dated expansions create a concrete migration runway.

8
Asymmetric leverage

Templates, import, validation, client management, submissions, receipts, reminders, and corrections scale through software.

5
Convergence

Two cross-references and no inbound connections provide limited convergence.

Why it scored well

A live phased mandate, verified sandbox interface, active accountant segment, and web multi-client gap support a focused bridge.

What's holding it back

The market has several competitors, buyer count is unverified, compatible-software and production access require proof, spreadsheet quality is messy, and incumbents can add web consoles.
