The case

Agentic commerce can initiate a purchase, but the buyer's accounting system still receives an email, PDF, processor event, or vendor-specific payload and must reconstruct what happened. Receiptforge lets a seller issue one canonical, signed receipt alongside the human document. An authorized buyer agent can verify its integrity, identify the issuer and transaction, and propose a booking without OCR. The receipt is evidence from the issuer, not proof that goods were received, tax treatment is correct, payment is final, or a journal entry is approved.

Who pays — and why

The billing-platform, finance systems, or product leader at a B2B software seller whose customers need reliable machine-readable transaction evidence.

What it unlocks
A stable seller-issued receipt contract across payment and commerce rails
Integrity, issuer, mandate, transaction, and status verification without OCR
Buyer-side proposed bookings with explicit exceptions and approval boundaries
A versioned interoperability corpus that can become more useful as issuers and consumers adopt it
How Genesis scored it
7.36across seven criteria
tension 7temporal 9blindspot 5buyer 7leverage 9convergence 5why-not 8
9
Temporal window

Recent commerce and payment protocol launches establish a current window.

9
Asymmetric leverage

Schemas, signing, verification, SDKs, and conformance tests scale through software.

5
Convergence

Two cross-references and three inbound connections support the theme but do not prove adoption.

Why it scored well

Current agentic payment and commerce protocols create a sharply timed missing accounting artifact, and an SDK plus verifier has high software leverage.

What's holding it back

Adoption is two-sided, no standard body or direct buyer evidence is supplied, three proposed capabilities remain unverified, and incumbent processors could extend their event formats.
