Kayfabe

A runtime policy and review layer for authorized creator personas that versions the approved character contract, evaluates candidate responses against explicit boundaries, applies redirect, escalation, or halt actions, and preserves incidents, appeals, corrections, and known detection gaps.

The case

The research confirms a generic behavioral-state analysis interface, academic work on persona-grounded safety, and active creator-persona platforms. It did not find a reviewed commercial product specializing in creator-approved character fidelity with incident evidence. No structural incumbent copying cost is evidenced.

Kayfabe must not diagnose, rank, label, or infer the mental state, vulnerability, protected traits, age, intent, dangerousness, or criminality of a fan. A jailbreak or manipulation score describes a bounded text pattern under a named classifier, not a person. Per-turn monitoring can miss multi-turn meaning, coded language, voice or image context, model drift, private channels, and downstream edits.

The creator or rights holder must approve the persona, likeness, voice, allowed and prohibited topics, disclosure, escalation, retention, and withdrawal. The platform remains responsible for safety policy and user support. A signed incident record protects integrity and attribution of the record only; it does not prove reasonable care, legal compliance, harm prevention, creator consent, or absence of unsafe output.

Who pays — and why

Creator-persona, companion, roleplay, avatar, and synthetic-media platforms operating licensed characters at production scale.

What it unlocks
A creator authority and persona contract with rights holder, contributor, identity and likeness scope, voice scope, character canon, approved sources, allowed and prohibited topics, disclosure, audience, geography, term, review, withdrawal, and correction
A versioned runtime policy with model and channel scope, behavior category, deterministic rule, classifier, threshold, examples, limitations, action ladder, human escalation, emergency support boundary, retention, and reviewer approval
A per-turn decision record separating user text and protected-data treatment, candidate response, policy checks, bounded classifier observations, uncertainty, intervention, released response, provider acknowledgment, delivery readback, appeal, and supersession
An incident workspace with conversation window, consented evidence, severity rubric, immediate action, creator and platform notification, human review, user support, takedown, correction, model or policy change, validation, signature, expiry, and lessons
How Genesis scored it
7.08across seven criteria
tension 7temporal 8blindspot 5buyer 8leverage 8convergence 5why-not 7
8
Temporal window

Creator-persona platforms and persona-grounded safety work make the problem current.

8
Buyer persona

Platforms operating creator-based personas have a clear runtime governance need.

5
Convergence

Several persona and research signals support the need, though only one generic analysis product is confirmed.

Why it scored well

Active persona platforms, a generic behavioral substrate, recognized research gap, explicit creator authority, versioned boundaries, pre-release interventions, and incident review create a concrete wedge.

What's holding it back

Behavior classification is incomplete and contextual, real-time latency matters, fan privacy and vulnerable users raise risk, creator and platform duties vary, and generic safety vendors can copy.
