The case

A newly launched regulatory intelligence product validates source-backed answers across more than thirty jurisdictions, so the category and a direct competitor are real. The remaining wedge is not 'the union of obligations': different laws attach to different entities, roles, activities, data, systems, territories, dates, exceptions, and authorities, and can conflict. Sherpaview should build a provenance graph that lets qualified compliance teams compare candidate overlaps and gaps, with every extracted provision and generated relationship traceable to an official source and human review.

Who pays — and why

The legal, regulatory intelligence, or enterprise compliance team at a multinational organization managing selected overlapping regimes.

What it unlocks
A versioned source corpus with official text, article, recital, authority, jurisdiction, language, translation, publication, effective date, and amendment history
Reviewer-owned obligation records with subject, role, trigger, action, object, timing, exception, evidence, and applicability conditions
Cross-regulation candidate overlap, conflict, dependency, and gap views whose reasoning and uncertainty remain inspectable

8
Temporal window

A May 2026 launch validates present demand.

8
Buyer persona

Global legal and compliance teams have a concrete multi-regime research job.

5
Convergence

The input has several graph links but moderate grounded convergence.

Why it scored well

A clear multinational buyer, direct category validation, a provenance-based overlap mechanism, and current open-plus-commercial delivery patterns support the concept.

What's holding it back

A direct competitor already covers many jurisdictions, source rights and translations are complex, overlap detection cannot replace legal interpretation, and no strong incumbent barrier is proven.
