The case

Industrial facilities can depend on computers and components long after consumer product cycles move on. End-of-life notices, counterfeit risk and single-source dependencies create procurement pressure, especially for government and defense suppliers. A part with similar specifications is not automatically a safe replacement.

Forklayer builds a customer-owned component graph from approved bills of material and asset records. It monitors licensed lifecycle sources and preserves manufacturer, part number, source date, status, confidence and conflicting notices. Potential alternatives remain candidates linked to specification differences, interfaces, firmware, environmental ratings, qualification history and supply evidence.

Engineering, cybersecurity, quality, export-control and contracting reviewers decide applicability. Generated procurement specifications and change-control packets are drafts with citations, not compliant documentation. Candidate, bench test, system validation, approval, purchase order, receipt, installation and operational acceptance remain separate.

The product does not expose controlled facility details, auto-substitute hardware, issue counterfeit conclusions or claim that a change satisfies any contract or regulation.
